Homemade Colon Cleanse

by admin on March 26, 2011

The homemade colon cleanse is also known as the master cleanse. It entails the intake of 6 to 12 glasses of a simple recipe throughout the day, along with a laxative tea and  salt water flush. All you need is freshly squeezed lemon juice, rich maple syrup, cayenne pepper and pure water. No complex diets. The hard part is controlling the hunger pangs.

There are three phases to this homemade colon cleanse recipe: the Ease-In phase, the actual cleanse and the Ease-Out phase.

Phase 1: Ease-In

Day 1: On the first day, you can only eat fruits and vegetables. No processed food, meat and dairy. Take a 60/40 ratio of vegetables to fruits for a good balance.

Day 2: The second day prepares your body for a full liquid diet. Here, you can experiment on fruit and vegetable juicing. There’s an abundant amount of fruits and vegetables that you can juice to deliver macronutrients a lot easier to your body. If you don’t have a juicer, settle for soups and broths.

Day 3: On the third day, you should only consume orange juice. Take at least 2 liters of freshly squeezed orange juice mixed with water to taste. The only thing you can add to this is maple syrup just to get sufficient caloric intake your body needs. The night before the actual cleanse, you should take a decaffeinated laxative herbal tea like green tea or peppermint tea.

Phase 2: The Homemade Colon Cleanse

Upon arising, take your salt water flush and prepare your lemon juice cleanse.  A salt water flush contains 2 teaspoons of non-iodized organic sea salt and 1 liter of warm water. Shake it and drink it all on one go. This may become harder and harder as your stomach begins to shrink. Get it down and try your best to keep it down to maximize its effects. When done right, you will have 3 to 7 bowel movements. When you can go for 15 minutes without having to rush to the bathroom, you’re good for the day.

After your first bowel movement, you can take your first glass of homemade colon cleanse so that the process of elimination begins once again. To make the master cleanse, mix 2 tablespoons of fresh lemon juice, 2 tablespoons of rich maple syrup, 1/10 teaspoon cayenne pepper powder and 8 ounces of pure water. Make sure you don’t store your lemons on the refrigerator and juice it every day so that the important enzymes don’t die. Drink between 6 to 12 glasses of this mixture everyday whenever you’re hungry and feel week. Carry a liter of pure water at all times and drink as much as you want to cleanse your palate of the lemonade mixture and give the illusion of fullness.

Every morning, on an empty stomach, drink your salt water flush and every night, take a cup of your laxative herbal tea before going to bed. Repeat the process for 10 to 14 days for best results.

Phase 3: Ease-Out

The Ease-Out process is much like the Ease-In process in reverse. Day 1 is a repeat of Phase 1, Day 3. Take at least 2 liters of freshly squeezed orange juice with water. Day 2 entails intake of vegetable juice, fruit juice or both, as well as soups or broths. By Day 3, you can eat live foods like fruits and vegetables, but not processed food, meat and dairy.

Post-Cleanse

After your homemade colon cleanse, you may be inclined to go back to your old eating habits and again pile on the weight. If you do this, you could gain back all the weight that you lost and the sacrifice is all for nothing. It’s best to eliminate processed foods, eat just right and exercise for a healthy lifestyle.
